IT IS BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!
Gingerbread is one of my favourite Christmas treats, but the traditional recipes are often filled with lots of sugar that can leave us feeling a little flat after enjoying one too many!
I have a gluten, dairy and refined sugar free GINGERBREAD BLISS BALL recipe which really does taste as good as the photo looks and is full of healthy fats which will leave you feeling full of energy – and better yet they are GUILT FREE!
GINGERBREAD BLISS BALL RECIPE:
1 cup of Almonds
1 cup of Cashews
½ cup of Desiccated Coconut
4 Medjool Dates
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 tablespoon of Maple syrup & 2 tablespoon of Honey (tastes just like golden syrup)
2 tablespoons of ground Ginger
1 tablespoon of ground Cinnamon
½ teaspoon of ground Cloves
½ teaspoon of ground Nutmeg
pinch of Himalayan Salt
2-3 tablespoons of melted Coconut Oil (until the mixture comes together)
Place all ingredients in a food processer or a blender until the mixture resembles a fine sticky crumb and then use your hands to press and roll the mixture into balls and place in the fridge to set.
Once set to make them extra decadent drizzle with chocolate sauce and pop back in the fridge until sauce sets on top.
Chocolate Sauce Drizzle:
2 Tablespoons of melted Coconut Oil
2 Teaspoons of Cocoa Powder
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1-2 Tablespoons on Maple Syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
Merry Christmas – Enjoy!
